This little girl made it through her surgery like a trooper. And it was several hundred less than the initial quote! Now to keep her from jumping for 1 month, the second hardest thing besides doing surgery on a 1 pound kitten. They usually want them to be at least 3 pounds for anesthesia safety. Since her surgery was so much less than we were told we can offer her at a discount of $400 alone or $300 with a sibling and she was spayed during her surgery so that cost is taken care of. She does have several weeks of recovery here as we have to keep her from jumping for 1 month and will take her in for a final vet check. For now she is in the bedroom to keep her from jumping and playing with her siblings who will rabbit kick her tummy. Here's hoping she won't jump off the bed or bedroom cat tree. For now she's super snuggly with her pain medications and I have to be carefull in the bed as she likes to quietly snuggle next to me. When I turn at night or get up in the morning I have to check on where she is so I don't squish her and strain her hernia patch.

This silver girl has been reserved. Here she is sitting on my foot instead of eating. She was trying to fall asleep but I kept making noises trying to get her to look at the camera.

This girl goes in for her surgery on Monday 1-26-15. We wanted to have her get her umbilical hernia fixed at the large hospital Access with all the bells and whistles, but it was going to be $4000.00. Quite the number which took a while to sink in. Our local vet has a surgeon who comes around to do harder surgery for local hospitals for about half the price. That put the cost more in the range of something we could afford. We had wanted to offer this girl at a discount, but we are already taking a huge financial loss to give her a normal life so she will go at the normal price of $500 for straight eared white kitten.

She such a sweetie and we’ve been hoping every step of the way that she would make it to the weight needed to even have surgery. My husband took the call on the cost of the two options and started crying when he got the news. He had thought the cost was too much to even consider and thought we’d have to give her the best life possible with the short time she would have before the hernia presented a complication. I simply texted him back from work that we’d unfortunately have to use the cheaper surgeon and hope he’s skilled enough to get her through it. It was devastating news, but luckily with the money from the siblings (which most of the money from this litter will go to save this kitten) we can afford the surgery as long as it doesn’t become complicated and the price start to go up exponentially mid-surgery.

We’ve been bombarding her with canned food to help her put on any extra ounces she can to make surgery just a tiny bit safer with atheistic. And we’ve been giving her lots of attention just in case she doesn’t make it. Here’s hoping for a quick and successful surgery to give this little angel a full normal life ahead of her.

The light silver straight eared kitten is still available. She isn't eating dry food yet, she'll be ready to go a week after she starts eating. She loves to sleep on us or our feet while we're walking. The fold is our handsome boy we'll start showing this spring!

Older young adult cat we still have ready to be adopted.

Busy with the holidays and furniture shuffling when we got a new TV so pictures were hard with toys and boxes everywhere. The spotted silver and white kitten has been reserved so now just the light silver and dark silver straight ears are available. Kittens went in for their first vaccinations and our vet is consulting with a larger hospital about what weight the white kitten needs to be for her surgery to fix her umbilical hernia.

The light silver loves to crawl on top of us and fall asleep standing up, sometimes just the top of our feel when we walking around and pause for a second she crawls on top and closes her eyes. She so cute, when she crawls on us we stop to watch how silly she will be as she tries to fall asleep fast while were moving or tries to keep her eyes open but falls asleep.
